We spent Sunday afternoon hiking and exploring more of Margot's River, going up stream from our normal spot to find some nice pools and small waterfalls. This is the spot where we had her memorial service, where we carefully poured her ashes into the river. This is the spot we come back to, time after time, to dip our toes in the water and collect rocks and explore and tell her yet again that we miss her.

I think it's the most sacred place on earth.

That photo of Leo's feet dipping into Margot's river left me speechless, tears streaming down my cheeks. Thank you for sharing.

These pictures, wow. I thought each one was my favourite, until I saw the next one. Stella exploring, all of your feet, your hands cradling Leo and Kari wearing him against her chest. What a gorgeous family you guys are. I can see Margot there with you all, in this beautiful part of the world where you go to remember and celebrate her.

That's right, Sally - "each one was my favorite, until I saw the next one." (Do you ever feel like I'd never know what to say if you weren't typing here?!)

The eyes speak.

If only pain had not made those eyes so wise, so deep.

And Margot, I can not see their eyes without ~ always ~ missing yours.

Such a family,

Cathy in Missouri

A picture is worth a thousand words. And they all are! Josh, you are SO good at sharing with your words, but also with your camera. I can feel Margot when I look at these...

Thanks for this Josh. This glimpse in pictures. I've been thinking of you guys so much. Such truth in Kari's eyes.

The whole family together in that sacred space. I love that.

Beautiful and sacred. All of you are so lovely and, through the four that remain, I seem to see your fifth, the girl who isn't in the photographs. But she's still there somehow. Even if only in her absence and my imaginings. With you and her mother and her sister and her brother. Margot. By her river.
